Events and Workshops are held in our Annex building, which is adjacent to the main store, in a large, comfortable room that seats approximately 65 people. 
After an event, we invite you to visit the bookstore building adjacent with new books, audio/video and transformational gifts. The Bodhi Tree Bookstore (New & Used) is open from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm every day except selected holidays. As of June 12, 2011 Used Books has been moved into New Books. Our web site is accessible all the time. We are ready to serve you in person, by telephone, fax, online or by mail.
Seating at the free Booksigning events is on a first come, first served basis. The featured book is offered at a ten percent discount.
We offer FREE valet parking for same-day purchases of $15 or more at the Bodhi Tree. Just present your valet ticket when you make your purchase and we will credit you the valet fee of $5.00. The drop-off/pick-up area is the parking meter space in front of the Bodhi Tree Annex building at 8583 Melrose Avenue. So come and visit the eclectic assortment of shops in the neighborhood and park for FREE from 10:30 am-11:00 pm.
A variety of parking is available: metered spaces, some spaces at particular times in the permit parking areas, Valet parking, two parking structures (Pacific Design Center and West Hollywood Park/Library Parking Structure) and 3 spaces in front of the former Used Book Building. We are sorry to announce that the offer we had accepted to purchase and relocate the Bodhi tree Bookstore has been rescinded (as of October 25). We had invested a great deal of hope and optimism in the offer agreement that, after many months of planning and negotiation
, has come to naught. As a consequence, we have re-contacted interested parties to explore opening a new dialogue. We will make every effort to keep the Bodhi Tree going in the community. If you know of anyone who has an interest and seems qualified to assume and continue the business, please contact us. Time is critical but we remain hopeful.

Science Fiction Vision is a year-long course that offers an expanded review of a century of prophetic genius from the 1890s to the 1990s. All of the major themes are woven into a field of realization that our future is here now. Each lecture will be streamed live with free access through Roger's website. Weir is noted for his far-reaching cosmic lectures that range from the most esoteric spiritual teachings to the latest in scientific exploration, while planting the seeds of personal transformation and nurturing self-education.

This program starts with a video of Krishnamurti (approximately one hour), then seeks to explore the topic of the video via the medium of dialogue. With the focus on "what is" rather than on ideas and opinions, the intention is to inquire together in such a way that new insights may occur in relation to fundamental questions of life.
Discovered as a boy by the Theosophical Society, Krishnamurti was groomed to be the new World Teacher, a role he repudiated in 1929 when he declared that "truth is a pathless land" and that his sole mission was "to set men . . . unconditionally free" For the rest of his life, he traveled the world exploring the issues of our common humanity with large audiences and invited participants. He had a special interest in education and founded schools in India, England, and California. Krishnamurti died in Ojai in 1986. His teachings are disseminated world-wide through the Krishnamurti Foundation.

Bodhi News Part 1: FUTURE OF THE BODHI TREE BOOKSTORE
The offer we had accepted to purchase and relocate the Bodhi Tree Bookstore has been rescinded (as of October 25). We had invested a great deal of hope and optimism in the offer agreement that, after many months of planning and negotiation, has come to naught. As a consequence, we have re-contacted interested parties in the business to explore opening a new dialogue. We will make every effort to keep the Bodhi Tree going in the community. If you know of anyone who has an interest and seems qualified to assume and continue the business, please contact us. Time is critical but we remain hopeful.
The Bodhi Tree Bookstore will be open-for-business throughout November and December. The Bodhi Tree Bookstore closes for business December 31, 2011 at 5:30 pm. We will have to vacate the property by January 28, 2012! We will keep you posted about new changes!
During these last few days, please continue your patronage (we need your support!!). Look for deep discounts towards the end of December. Please let your friends know in everyway you can that the Bodhi Tree is in transition.

Bodhi News Part 2: USED BOOKS HAS MOVED INTO NEW BOOKS
As of Sunday June 12, all of our books, new and used, are under one roof in the New Book Building from 10 am to 11 pm every day.
We are in the process of purchasing a major library (over 60 boxes of books) composed of highly selected, important literature and all the books are in as-new condition. Look for an extensive selection of used books in Tibetan Buddhism, Philosophy, and metaphysics.
The used books are displayed side-by-side with their new counterparts in the appropriate subject areas. Customers now have the option of choosing either a new or used book, and can enjoy expanded hours of access to used books (the Used Bookstore closed at 6pm).
Many of our used books (when in stock) are listed on the Bodhi Tree Bookstore web site giving improved customer purchase choices.
The Used Book buyer will generally be available Monday through Thursday, from 10 am to 2 pm and from 3-5 pm, at the rear of the New Book Store, in the Receiving area. Call ahead to assure that the used book buyer is available.

We have continued to enhance the Bodhi Tree web site. In the last several months, we have added additional lecture presentations, information lists, photo galleries, annotations, Guest Book and Gift Card button. In addition the home page has been changed. Recently, we have added a links page.
As of December 31, 2011, we have discontinued the Bodhi Tree bookstore full E-Commerce at www.bodhitree.com. The extensive Health & Wellness Products companion website featuring an extensive array of products for health, home, workplace, exeercise and recreation will continue to be operative.
When you click on the "Health & Wellness" button, it opens to an extensive selection of over 14,000 health and wellness products: everything from vitamins and herbal supplements to homeopathy, aromatherapy, personal care and natural cruelty-free cosmetics (and much more). Our "Health & Wellness" store ships to you within one business day. The site and fulfillment is managed on our behalf by "Your Body Naturally", with all shipments originating in Wisconsin.

Evolve: A Magazine of Evolutionary Products, People and Ideas, was a "free" consumer magazine published four times a year by New Leaf Distributors. The current issue of Evolve (Vol. 9, No 4) will be the last issue as its publication is being stopped. We no longer accept yearly subscriptions to Evolve Magazine and all current subscribers will be refunded the balance of their subscription.

This program is a joint program of The City of West Hollywood, the Urth Caffe, the Bodhi Tree Bookstore and other local merchants. We hope everyone finds this parking program convenient and useful!

WHERE TO PARK NEAR THE BODHI TREE BOOKSTORE:

One of the most common problems of life in Los Angeles is finding a parking space. Here's a guide that we hope will make it easier for you to park and help you avoid getting a parking ticket when visiting the Bodhi Tree Bookstore in West Hollywood. Park cautiously and feel free to ask us where and when you may park.
The Bodhi Tree Bookstore has three customer parking spaces in front of the former Used Book building on Westbourne Avenue. Metered street parking is generally available. In addition, there are two parking structures ( Pacific Design Center and West Hollywood park/Library Parking Structure), and Valet parking. See below for details.

The Bodhi Tree has three off-street parking spaces near the front of the Used Book Branch on Westbourne Drive. Parking Meters: You may park anytime wherever there is a parking meter (this includes Melrose Ave. and on side streets as well). You must pay the meter from 8:00 am-6:00 pm. The maximum time allowed is two hours. Meters only take quarters: 25 cents for 20 minutes. The meters are free after 6:00 pm (some go to 8 pm, check the signs) and all day on Sundays. Forty-one metered spaces (angled parking) are available on Melrose Avenue west of the Bodhi Tree (in front of, and further west of, the Pacific Design Center). |
WHERE YOU CAN PARK MOST OF THE TIME:
