Events and Workshops are held in our Annex building, which is adjacent to the main store, in a large, comfortable room that seats approximately 65 people.
The Bodhi Tree Bookstore closed to retail on December 31, 2011. We are continuing with a few workshop events and some of the Psychics for part of January, 2012. The last day in the building is January 28, 2012. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.
As of December 31, 2011, the Bodhi Tree Bookstore no longer offers FREE valet parking for same-day purchases of $15 or more at the Bodhi Tree. A variety of parking is available: metered spaces, some spaces at particular times in the permit parking areas, Valet parking, two parking structures (Pacific Design Center and West Hollywood Park/Library Parking Structure). All this is explained in detail in the “Parking” section on the Bodhi Tree web site. The parking information is also listed below in “WHERE TO PARK NEAR THE BODHI TREE BOOKSTORE”...

Saturday, January 7, 10:00 am-12:00 noon
ROGER WEIR presents "Hermetic Bodhisattvas"
(Saturdays, January 7, 14, 21: 10:00am-12:00pm. After January 21, Roger Weir will move his lectures to a new location that has not yet been specified)
Workshop: $30/DVDs $20, CDs $10.
(Special Complete 52 Set Pricing, Internet Live Feed Fee.)
For Info: (310) 278-9668 www.RogerWeir.com
Hermetic Bodhisattvas is a year-long course that offers an expanded review of the Hermetic tradition. All of the major themes are woven into a field of realization that our future is here now. Weir will cover the origins of the Hermetica and weave into it the teachings of Pythagoras, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Zoroaster, Plato, Jesus, Mary Magdalene, St. Thomas, St. Phillip, St. Matthew as well as the Florentine renaissance, Hermetic America and the Shared Presence Foundation. Each lecture will be streamed live with free access through Roger's website. Weir is noted for his far-reaching cosmic lectures that range from the most esoteric spiritual teachings to the latest in scientific exploration, while planting the seeds of personal transformation and nurturing self-education.
This year-long course (52 lectures) has four segments corresponding to the seasons. Each segment presents a pair of phases. Together the set of four pairs, or eight phases, constitutes a traditional form of wisdom. The first 3 lectures will be in the Bodhi Tree Annex building. The lectures will be presented in another location for the balance of the year. The new location has not yet been announced. See www.RogerWeir.com for continuing information.
Each lecture is complete in itself and may be attended individually but it is fully appreciated as part of the comprehensive complete set of lectures.
I Winter 2012 (January-March): Origins of the Hermetica
II Spring (April-June): The Hermetica:
Mary Magdalene: Odes of Solmon, Jesus, Philo of Alexandria: Platonism, Neo-Pythagorean, Joseph's Enoch Parables, Philo to Apollos, Mary Magdalene to St. John, St. Thomas to Asvaghosa, St. Philip to Joseph of Arimathea, St. Matthew to the World, , St. John with Appols, St. Mark: Roman gospel, Recalibration 90AD: The Hermetica, The Mahayana: Aasvaghosa to Nagarjuna, Florentine Renaissance, Hermetic America, Shared Presence Foundation and the Stellar Civilization.

Last day of the Bodhi Tree Bookstore in this location. We have enjoyed being an spiritual information crossroad and a place where dreams, visions, and inspiration found a home and prospered. We have all grown under its influence. Thank you for your support and patronage. Help us visualize our rebirth in a new location and a new look.
"Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself and yourself alone one question. This question is one that only a very old man asks. My benefactor told me about it when I was young. And my blood was too vigorous for me to understand it. Now I do understand it. I will tell you what it is: does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good. If it doesn't, it is of no use."
--Carlos Castaneda, quoted by Jack Kornfield in A Path with Heart.

Bodhi News Part 1: FUTURE OF THE BODHI TREE BOOKSTORE
The Bodhi Tree Bookstore closed-for-business December 31, 2011. We will have until January 28, 2012 to empty the buildings of bookcases, cabinets and other furniture. We will keep you posted about new changes!
The offer we had accepted to purchase and relocate the Bodhi Tree Bookstore has been rescinded (as of October 25). We had invested a great deal of hope and optimism in the offer agreement that, after many months of planning and negotiation, has come to naught. As a consequence, we have re-contacted interested parties in the business to explore opening a new dialogue. As of December 19, we are ingaged in serious discussions with two groups who are interested in continuing the Bodhi Tree legacy with a physical store. We will make every effort to keep the Bodhi Tree going in the community. Time is critical but we remain hopeful.
To keep informed, visit the Bodhi Tree website www.bodhitree.com and Facebook site: www.facebook.com/pages/Bodhi-Tree-Bookstore/60355976183.

As of December 31, 2011, we have discontinued the Bodhi Tree Bookstore full E-Commerce at www.bodhitree.com. The extensive Health & Wellness Products companion website featuring an extensive array of products for health, home, workplace, exercise and recreation will continue to be operative.
When you click on the "Health & Wellness" button, it opens to an extensive selection of over 14,000 health and wellness products: everything from vitamins and herbal supplements to homeopathy, aromatherapy, personal care and natural cruelty-free cosmetics (and much more). Where to park near the Bodhi Tree Bookstore
WHERE TO PARK NEAR THE BODHI TREE BOOKSTORE:
Friends of the Bodhi Tree,
One of the most common problems of life in Los Angeles is finding a parking space. Here's a guide that we hope will make it easier for you to park and help you avoid getting a parking ticket when visiting the Bodhi Tree Bookstore in West Hollywood. Park cautiously and feel free to ask us where and when you may park.
The Bodhi Tree Bookstore has three customer parking spaces in front of the former Used Book building on Westbourne Avenue. Metered street parking is generally available. In addition, there are two parking structures ( Pacific Design Center and West Hollywood park/Library Parking Structure), and Valet parking. See below for details.
VALET PARKING:
The City of West Hollywood, the Urth Caffé, the Bodhi Tree Bookstore and other local merchants have a community valet parking program.
The pick-up area is in front of the Bodhi Tree Annex building at 8583 Melrose Avenue.
The cost is $5.00 and it is in operation from 10:30 am to 11 pm.
Consider using valet parking the next time you want to visit not only the Bodhi Tree Bookstore but also Kitson, Waterworks and Mansour across the street, followed by a visit to Soolip for some beautiful paper. There are many interesting stores in the area. Finally, before heading home, you can relax with a wonderful "caffé" at Urth or Le Pain Quotidien. Through valet parking, you may "forget" about your car for long time.
How to park for free: The Bodhi Tree Bookstore offers a "help you park" program. We will reimburse or credit the basic Valet fee ($5.00) for a minimum purchase of $15.00.
PACIFIC DESIGN CENTER PARKING STRUCTURE:
The parking garage entrance for Pacific Design Center is located on Melrose Avenue, just east of San Vicente Boulevard. First 20 minutes free, $1.50 each 15 minutes thereafter. $13.50 maximum weekdays. $6 flat rate after 6 pm Monday through Wednesday; $9 flat rate after 6 pm Thursday; $10 flat rate after 6 pm Froday and Saturday. $7 flat rate 10 am-6 pm saturday and all day Sunday. WEST HOLLYWOOD PARK/LIBRARY PARKING STRUCTURE (333 Spaces):

8 am to 6 pm Daily: First hour is free; One additional hour free with park validation; thereafter $1 each 20 minutes; $12 maximum.
6 pm to 2 am Sunday through Wednesday: $1 each 20 minutes; $6 maximum.
6 pm to 2 am Thursday: $1 each 20 minutes; $8 maximum.
6 pm to 2 am Friday and Saturday: $10 flat rate; Two hours free parking for park visitor's with validation.
WHERE YOU CAN ALWAYS PARK:
|
The Bodhi Tree has three off-street parking spaces near the front of the Used Book Branch on Westbourne Drive. Parking Meters: You may park anytime wherever there is a parking meter (this includes Melrose Ave. and on side streets as well). You must pay the meter from 8:00 am-6:00 pm. The maximum time allowed is two hours. Meters only take quarters: 25 cents for 20 minutes. The meters are free after 6:00 pm (some go to 8 pm, check the signs) and all day on Sundays. Forty-one metered spaces (angled parking) are available on Melrose Avenue west of the Bodhi Tree (in front of, and further west of, the Pacific Design Center). |
WHERE YOU CAN PARK MOST OF THE TIME:
| The side streets south of Melrose-west side: Two-hour free parking is available south of Melrose on the west side of the side streets (towards the Beverly Center) Monday through Saturday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. There is no parking in this area after 7:00 pm. every night and all day on Sundays. |
|
The Pacific Design Center parking lot is at the the corner of Melrose Ave. and San Vicente Blvd., just 1-1/2 blocks west of the Bodhi Tree. Because of construction or the Red Building, the San Vicente Blvd is closed. The designated entrance is on Melrose Avenue, just east of San Vicente Boulevard. See above for rates. The West Hollywood Park/Library Parking Structure is located near the corner of San Vicente Blvd. and Melrose Avenue. Temporary entrance is on robertson Blvd just north of Melrose Avenue. See above for rates. |
WHERE YOU CAN NEVER PARK:
| The side streets north of Melrose: No parking is allowed at any time in the area north of Melrose (towards Santa Monica Blvd.), except at any parking meter. |
| The side streets south of Melrose-east side: The area south of Melrose is a different permit area with different rules. There is no parking at any time on the east side of the street. Parking is allowed at times on the west side of the street (see WHERE YOU CAN PARK MOST OF THE TIME). |
Please don't be discouraged-there's usually enough parking available most of the time in the areas listed above.
| The Bodhi Tree Bookstore provides handicap parking in a rear, employee parking area. Access is from Westbourne Avenue. Drive up the driveway between the New Book and Used Book Branch buildings. A Bodhi Tree Staff person will open the access gate. |
