Bodhi Tree People Past and Present

The Bodhi Tree staff at the beginning in 1970 was six people, two full time and the rest part time. Starting in about mid 1975, we started adding staff as the store gained customers. By 1990, we reached a staff size of 99 people, our largest number. After 1990, the book business began to change with the addition of chain stores, superstores and online retail establishments. We were no longer the only place to find spiritual books and related material. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s the staff number slowly decreased. In the spring of 2007, our staff is now about 45 people, half full time and half part time.

Over the years, several hundred people have worked at the bookstore. We never attempted to photographically record them in any systematic way but a surprising number of interesting pictures have survived.

Gathered here are pictures of former staff people, current staff in historic review, and friends of the Bodhi Tree. The arrangement is approximately in date order, starting with 1975.
